Spanish Ambassador visits our university

The Spanish Ambassador to Hungary visited the University of Debrecen on Tuesday, June 16, during the course of his recent trip to Debrecen. Luis Ángel Redondo Gómez and the members of his delegation familiarized themselves with a program launched a year ago at the Department of Spanish Studies within the Institute of Mediterranean Languages and Cultures at the Faculty of Humanities.

American Guests at the Debrecen Summer University

Americans of Hungarian descent visited the Summer University on Monday. During the day, they toured the Egyetem tér campus and learned about methods for studying the Hungarian language, after which they visited the city’s sights. During their trip to Hungary, they are visiting numerous locations in the region, including Tarcal, Mád, Szilvásvárad, and Boldogkőváralja.

Proceedings in Classical Studies

Recent developments in ancient Greek and Roman epigraphy and papyrology were in the focus of a two-day international conference on epigraphy, held on May 7 and 8, 2026, by the Department of Classical Philology and Ancient History at the Institute of History, Faculty of Humanities (BTK) of the University of Debrecen (UD). After the delivery of a welcome address in honor of founder György Németh in Sándor Karácsony Hall of the Main Building, the most distinguished Hungarian and international scholars in this field presented their latest research findings.

The Institute of History of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Debrecen and the Department of Military History of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń held their second joint Polish-Hungarian international historian symposium in Poland.
