In 1987, I graduated in biology-chemistry-pedagogy at KLTE. I obtained my PhD degree at the University of Debrecen in 2000, my research topic was subject integration in natural sciences. I spent the first 8 years of my career as a secondary school teacher. I have been working continuously in higher education since 1994, I have taught in all segments of teacher training (kindergarten teacher, social pedagogue, teacher, teacher, engineering teacher, specialized and specialized examination courses). My research topics: curriculum theory, teacher training, science education, as well as school organization, school management. I am a lecturer at DE HTDI, supervisor at DE HTDI and EKE's Doctoral School of Education.
I am an associate professor at the University of Debrecen and the scientific vice president of the Mária Kopp Institute for Population and Families. I obtained my PhD degree in 2010 at the Doctoral Program in Education and Cultural Sciences of the University of Debrecen, and completed my habilitation there in 2017. The focus of my research is the educational approach to the family, so I deal with the relationship between student achievement and family background, education for family life, the connections between family formation and education, and the issue of family and career. Another area of my research is formal adult education.
I graduated as an economist-sociologist in 1991, obtained my PhD degree in sociology in 2001, and obtained my habilitation in educational sciences in 2010. I have been working at the Department of Sociology and Social Policy of the University of Debrecen since 2002, currently as an associate professor. In addition, I participate in the work of the DE Humanities Doctoral School and have been working with members of the CHERD-H research group since 2002. My research topics are on the border between sociology and education, and my target group is university students. My research topics are social mobility of higher education students, differences between men and women in education, voluntary and paid work of students, and finally applications of human capital theory.
Klára Kovács PhD., habilitated assistant professor at the University of Debrecen, senior researcher at the Higher Education Research and Development Center (CHERD-H). In 2010, he graduated as a certified sociologist from the University of Debrecen, and in 2014 he obtained a doctorate in education from the University's Doctoral Program in Education and Cultural Studies. He completed his habilitation at the same place in 2020. His research area is the social, institutional and individual factors that determine the sports habits of students in the Carpathian Basin, as well as the impact of sports on well-being, health behavior and academic performance.
I have been an active member of the CHERD-Hungary Research Group since 2014. The focus of my research is the investigation of voluntary work and civic activity of higher education students. In my doctoral dissertation, I investigated the attitudes of high school students regarding school community service. Title of my monograph: On the way to responsible citizenship. Direct and indirect effects of school community service. In 2018, I won the doctoral candidate scholarship of the New National Excellence Program. I am currently a researcher-analyst at the Mária Kopp Institute for Population and Families, a lecturer at the Doctoral Program in Education and Cultural Sciences of the Doctoral School of Human Sciences at the University of Debrecen, and the editor of the Book Review section of the Hungarian Educational Research Journal (HERJ).
