MTA-DE-Parent-Teacher Cooperation Research Group Interns

Bíró, Barbara

I am Barbara Biró, a third-year student of Pedagogy. In 2019 I graduated from the Teacher Training College in Oradea, and in September 2020 I started my studies at the University of Debrecen. In the last few years I have become more and more interested in the world of alternative pedagogy, therefore I chose Step by Step, a well-known alternative educational method in Romania, as my research topic. One of the most popular tools of Step by Step is the Storytelling Chair, which can function as a bridge between the world of family and school. I also examined the Epstein Classification dimensions of parental involvement. One of my goals is to promote Step by Step so that its tools and methods can be experienced by as many children as possible.

Csák, Zsolt

I am Zsolt Csák, a second-year BA student in Pedagogy. Even before starting my university studies, my interest was focused on educational science and psychology. Within this, gender, motivation and happiness are the topics that I would like to delve into the most. I joined the Internship Program in 2023. My long-term goal is to stay within the research sphere. I believe that everyone has their right place in life and I want to contribute to this with my work.

Fekete, Emese Kincső

I am Emese Kincső Fekete, a student of English and Computer Science Education at the University of Debrecen. I joined the Internship Program at the CHERD-Hungary Research Center in 2022. My research, conducted in collaboration with my research mentor, Dr. Tímea Ceglédi, focuses on the role of teachers in parental involvement and specifically their opinions on this matter, aiming to support it. Thanks to the Internship Program at the CHERD-Hungary Research Center, I am able to deepen my knowledge not only in the field of research but also believe that I can greatly utilize the insights gained from interviews and the research itself in my future teaching work. I hope that my future research results can contribute to developments in the area of parental involvement, thereby assisting students in achieving better educational outcomes and prospects for their lives.

Horváth, Annamária

I am Annamária Horváth, a third-year English-Biology teacher trainee at the University of Debrecen. Parental involvement was an essential aspect of our research involving disadvantaged students, entitled Discovery of Hidden Value of Mentoring (DHVM). In the Let's Teach for Hungary Mentoring Programme, we investigated the perception of the Pygmalion-effect among mentored and non-mentored students.

Papp, Hunor

I am Hunor Papp, a 5th year Hungarian and Ethics teacher trainee. Since the beginning of my studies I have been interested in the functioning and impact of alternative educational tools. I would like to get to know pedagogical methods that can help teachers in the long run and contribute to the promotion of the teaching profession. I am interested in research on the role of mentoring in public education and the use of modern ICT tools in schools. I believe that mentoring can be an excellent way of authentically transmitting knowledge between generations, so I am both a mentor and a mentee. As a mentor in the Let’s Teach for Hungary Mentoring Programme for primary school students, I aim to use the knowledge I have gained as a mentee in the CHERD-Hungary Educational Research Internship Programme.

Puskás, Marcell

I am Marcell Puskás, a third-year teacher trainee at the University of Debrecen, with my majors being English and History. My university studies started in 2020 and I joined the CHERD program as a research intern in 2022. Since I started my university studies, I was interested in doing research, however, I did not know in what field. My decision was made: religion sociology, with a special emphasis on schools with different denominations. My research topic became more exact this year, as the research on organizational culture was added to it, more specifically from the eyes of the teachers of these institutions.
